Temple Of Iris
The wombat says: What you probably didn’t know wombat fans is that this marsupial is a big fan of Egyptology. So we were more than pleased when this slot from Eyecon dropped into the spinbox at Wombat Towers.
This game used to be called the Temple of Isis slot (that is the real name of the goddess), but they changed the name to Temple of Iris who I think was the tea lady in the British soap opera “Eastenders”, although she still looks like an Egyptian goddess in this slot.
The real Temple of Isis (which the game is inspired by) is dedicated to the Egyptian goddess Isis who is worshipped as mother of all gods as well as the goddess of magic and nature.
Eyecon are those Aussie dudes behind games like the Lost Island slot and Fluffy Too and they have pulled out all of the stops on this one.
Will you be blessed with riches by the ancient Pharoahs? Or will this slot scare you off faster than a unravelling mummy in a sarcophagus? Let’s play and see…
About the developer
The Temple of Iris slot was developed by Eyecon, the gamesmakers behind Fluffy Favourites and 99 Time slots. Originally a computer gaming company, Eyecon were founded in 1997 but moved over into the online casino world a few years later. They are also fellow Aussies which makes they pretty cool in our book…
Look and Feel
Usually Eyecon aren’t known for the quality of their graphics, but they’ve actually done an OK job in Temple Of Isis slot. I mean, there are moe spectacular games in this genre (some of the Play ´n Go ones for example), but it does the job.
All done up ancient Egyptian style, the reels are covered in Pharoah’s gold and set against a sun that’s slowly setting in the background of of the sky and the stars and, of course, the famous pyramids. Said reels are positioned in the middle, making sure they are seen with the dark background are divided up with traditional Egyptian purple and gold sticks.
Now that’s more like it Eyecon!
Temple of Iris Game Play
Temple of Iris slot has 5 reels, 3 rows and 25 pay-lines. You’ll find that this is a popular format for Eyecon games- just check out the little fella in the Irish Luck slot machine if you don’t believe me.
Your symbols on the reels include the standard 9, 10, J, Q & K playing cards as your lower value symbols, plus a whole host of Egyptian-themed objects the ankh cross, cat god Bastet, then there’s the ornate bright blue Eye of Horus icon and the lucky scarab beetle which will both pay out a whopping 38x your bet if you 5x of them.
The priestess is the wild in this game (she’s the one who looks like she’s on holiday in the bahamas, which is weird), and this icon will do the usual job of all substituting for all other symbols on the reels to make up extra winning combos for you.
Even better is that if the Priestess Wild forms part of a combination you’ll also scoop a x2 multplier. Cheers Eyecon!
Meanwhile the Pyramid symbol will act as the game’s Scatter.
Free Spins and Bonus Features
If you are looking for boatloads of features then you would be better off firing up something like the Magic Ian slot machine (particularly if you are on a mobile). Having said that, the Temple of Isis is pretty generous with its free spins if you get the required number of scatters.
You set off the Free Spins Wombat fans by landing 3x or more of the Pyramid icons. When this happens, you will receive 15 Free Spins, and best of all, all your payouts will be tripled!
This slot also gives you the chance to DOUBLE your wins in the Gamble Bonus. It will pay double or nothing on your last win and all you have to do is choose correctly between the two options available. You can play this Gamble Bonus up to 5 times, but don’t forget that a wrong guess will lose you the lot…
Temple of Isis Conclusion
It’s hats off to Eyecon for making a slot that looks the part as well as offers some decent wins – and with those double wild pays and the 3x multiplier in the Free Spins round, ‘wins’ really are the name of the game (well, actually it’s called Temple of Iris, but you know what we mean). Get spinning!
