Psycho
Unfortunately Psycho has been discontinued by NextGen. What a shame! Norman Bates’ mum is NOT going to be happy….
Have you tried our Dracula slot game? That’s also pretty spooky if you like a fright. It makes my fur stand on end, I can tell you.
The wombat says: Welcome to the Bates Motel wombat fans. This blood curdling slot is inspired by classic 1950s film Psycho starring Anthony Perkins and Janet Leigh who looks a bit like our super spy in the Agent Jane Blonde slot, but that’s a different game.
Remember the infamous shower scene? Of course you do. This wombat couldn’t step foot inside a bathroom for 3 weeks after watching it. Mrs Wombat was not best pleased. NextGen have teamed up with Universal who own the rights to the legendary horror flick to make this super scary slot – and very authentic it is too. Be afraid, be very afraid…
We have plenty of licensed games here at Wombat Casino – like the Top Cat slot and Terminator 2 for example. This one has to be the scariest! Well, the Dracula slot is pretty creepy I guess.
The background graphics really set the scene in Psycho slot. The sinister Bates Motel sits behind the reels while your screen is filled with random flashes of thunder and lightning, pelting rain and a mist-filled car park.
This NextGen game (the people who also designed the Potion Commotion slot) is jam-packed with icons from the film, and even the reels themselves are set on the dripping wet shower curtain, straight out of that well-known scary scene. We also love how the Bates Motel sign flickers ominously, and doubles up to tell you which of the Wild multipliers you are about to receive, too!
Then there’s the authentic soundtrack. Just like the original movie it’s suspenseful and spine-chilling even down to the ‘eeekkk eeekk eeeekkkks’ when you scoop a win. Don’t play this alone…
There are 5 reels, 3 rows and 25 pay lines in Psycho slot. You’ll find the usual 10, J, Q, K & A as your low paying symbols. These are accompanied on the reels by birds of prey – just to be extra creepy. You’ll also find a Motel room key, an envelope of cash, a creepy eye peering through a key hole, Janet Leigh, and psycho Norman Bates himself – all of which make up your high-paying symbols in the slot. The Wild here is the big old red ‘Wild’ symbol that you can’t miss, while the Scatter is the decrepit house on the hill where Bates’ ‘mother’ lives. Eeeeekkk!
Land 3x or more of the Bates Motel bonus scatters anywhere on the reels and you’ll set off the Free Spins. Here, you’ll find yourself on a new set of reels with more Wilds added and Wild multipliers in play, too. The multipliers can reach a slot-crazy 40x your bet, so keep your eyes peeled for them! And just when you thought things couldn’t get any better, if you land 3x or more Scatters during the round, you’ll re-trigger the Free Spins.
Between you and me, that slashing knife sound has really given me the heebee jeebees. I keep seeing that image of Bate’s mother in her rocking chair. Yikes!
Feeling lucky Wombat fans? Then click on the Gamble Hearts/Clubs button below the reels – it’s a NextGen staple. Pick the right suit and/or colour of the next face-down card after a winning spin to double or quadruple your prize. Good luck!
If you like your slots a bit on the dark side, then Psycho is the game for you. NextGen have done a great job of recreating the atmosphere of this Hitchcock classic, and the gameplay isn’t bad either. We are big fans of the Free Spins retrigger which is where the wins are.
