Dead World
Dead World
The Wombat vs the Zombies. Bring it On.
The Wombat says: BRAINS, I need brains! Well actually I don’t, I’m a herbivore. But these blood-crazed Zombies do, and they want nothing more than to suck out your grey matter. It’s up to you and the Reels of Steel to stop them…
When you first fire up this game from 1×2 Gaming, there’s no mistaking the theme from all of the hideous zombie noises and the sinister background music which will have you drawing the curtains and playing the Untamed Wolf Pack slot before you know it.
It’s 28 days after the Zombie Apocalypse and you are the last surviving member of the human race. You need to keep spinning to keep the Zombies at bay, and to activate their brain-mushingly good bonus rounds. Guns at the ready!
We’ve plenty of moody games like the Forsaken Kingdom slot machine here at Wombat Casino, but if it’s zombies you want, zombies you’ll get with Dead World.
The 5-reel Dead World slot has 50 paylines and is based on the comic book of the same name, while the reels themselves feature decomposing zombies and their human hunters. Each of the 11 symbols are based on a character from the Dead World comic itself that fans will recognise.
Bet levels start from 1 up to 5 coins, and from between $ 0.01 to $ 0.50. There is also a Max Bet feature if you feeling like a high roller. Oh, and the highest value wins on the screen are paid from the skeleton, so keep your eyes peeled for this bony-looking bloke.
Bonus Feature
There is only one bonus feature in Dead World slot, and it’s activated when you get 3 or more scatter symbols anywhere across all of the reels. The Bonus scatter is a long-haired member of the Undead who announces the arrival of the extra round with a bunch of blood splattered tiles. There’s also an additional prize if the symbols are on a payline: 3 in a row = 20, 4 in a row = 50 and 5 in a row = 300.
Once you’ve triggered the Bonus, it’s time to get your pistols fired up as you’ll be taken to Zombie shooting range! This classic shoot ‘em up is this Wombat’s favourite part of the game, as use your gun to shoot the brain eaters.
You’ll find your ammo at the bottom of the screen (5 bullets to start with, so make them count) and each zombie you kill gives you a cash win or additional ammo. Keep on firing at the undead until you run out of bullets!
Dead World is a comic book series that started back in 1987, and is still going today. It follows a group of survivors after an Apocalypse has caused the world’s dead to rise up from their graves. If you think this all sounds very familiar – it does. But Dead World was released well before The Walking Dead, it’s just hasn’t been on TV yet…
But hey, there´s a Dead World slot already, what are you complaining about?
Mobile Dead World Slot
The 1×2 Gaming designers have done a great job adapting this game for mobiles and tablets. We can’t really fault them- it’s easy to go full screen and you can play both in portrait mode nad in landscape mode (we prefer playing with our wombatphone held sideways). A big hand to 1×2 Gaming! Oh look, here’s one we found on the floor earlier.
Click on the button that contains the lines and coin value information to change your bet amount. There is also a Bet History tab and an easy way of turning the background music on and off- just in case you are playing on your own and it’s starting to creep you out!
Video Clip
Here’s a short video clip of me getting into the bonus round for the shoot-em up game.

Conclusion:
Wombat Casino loves the Bonus round with its shooting feature that adds a lot to this slot game. But we’d have liked to see a few more features. It plays well on a mobile though, one of the best adaptations we have seen.…
Fans of the Zombie Apocalypse will rate the Dead World slot, as will those players who really enjoyed the look and play of Lost Vegas. And it’s a must-spin for lovers of the original Dead World comic book.
Wombat score: 3.5/5
Very playable, but we’d have liked a bit more action on the bonus front. Having said that…the soundtrack and the sound effects…..creepy! And we love the animations on this game- pure class!
