Dark Thirst
Unfortunately, Dark thirst is no longer available to play for real at Wombat Casino. You can still play the demo game here. Have you tried Blood Queen or Dracula?
The Wombat says: Arm yourselves with crucifixes and grab as much garlic as you can fit in your ruddy handbags! You’re about to enter the vampire’s lair…
Designed by 1×2 Gaming, the Dark Thirst slot is a game inspired by classic vampire stories and is a game to give the Dead World video slot a run for its money. Think Nosferatu and Bram Stoker’s Dracula rolled into one.
I love ALL the gruesome gaming symbols on the reels based on those bloodsucking tales of yore, including a vampire hunter’s most-deadly weapons: holy water, the bible, garlic, and a big old cup of blood.
Then there’s a nasty-looking vampire bat, a pair of fangs dripping with blood, and some hungry-looking vampires. If you prefer a lighter theme, then you are better off playing one of Gameburger Studio’s slots, something like 9 Pots of Gold.
But if this is up your street, then sink your teeth into the 5 reel and 25 pay-lines available here.. The minimum bet amount on Dark Thirst is 0.05 while the maximum amount 270 – and there’s a max bet button if you want to go all-in on your next spin…
The most lucrative symbol is the ‘Tom Cruise from Interview with A Vampire’ look-a-like. Line up this guy along the blood-soaked reels and you’ll pick up 50 coins for 3, 100 coins for 4 and a wombat whopping 500 coins for 5… Show me the money!
Be afraid, be very afraid of the freaky female vampire who acts as the Wild Card.
Aside from giving you a nasty nip, this vampirical vixen replaces any other symbol on the reels to give you extra wins – and if you get all 5 Wild cards on your screen, you’ll scoop 7500 coins.
Mwahhahhaaaa!
Now comes the Scatter…10 free spins are on offer with 3 or more scatter icons on your screen.
So keep your eyes peeled for the old, weird, grey-haired vampire symbol, as Dark Thirst does have a multiplier prize – all wins are tripled during the scatter spins!
I know he looks creepy, but at least he’s generous!
The bonus mode is triggered by landing on 3 or more RIP bonus icons on an active pay line. Once through, you’ll be greeted by a gruesome graveyard with 12 graves.
Unearth the graves, and if you find a bloodsucking vampire lurking underneath, you’ll pick up a win.
The grave digging bonus round is over when the grave you dig up has an innocent lying in it, then you’re back to the main game.
Great graphics and a fun bonus feature, but Dark Thirst gives us a bit of déjà vu – it’s very very similar to Blood Suckers from NetEnt…It’s pretty dark when you compare it to other NextGen games like the Venetian Rose slot machine, for example, but hey- who doesn’t like a vampire slot?
That said, this wombat loves the original design touches like the fang scroll down button on the Paytable, and the zoom in scary intro! But best of all are the vampire puns; ‘Vlad to be playing’ and ‘Fangs for spinning’ are just two of our favourites. Oh, and the music is epic too. The creepy soundtrack gives us shivers up our spine with all those crashing cymbals and operatic wails. In short, we love the game, but recommend you play this one with the lights on…
(loses a point for the copy-cat element, sorry…)
