We are about to enter the pad of a very wealthy stranger in the Bust the Mansion slot from Pulse 8. With some great bonus features and a selection of different Jackpots, this game has quite a bit to offer.

Apart from the graphics that is, which are on the basic side compared to, say, something like Gladiator Legends from Hacksaw Gaming. We thought we’d get that out of the way from the off.

If I had a house with this many goodies inside it, I’d be triple locking all of my doors and safes. It’s a step up from my burrow, that’s for sure.

Look and Feel

Behind the reel set, there are two large windows with an orange glow seeping through them from the street lights outside. These windows frame the reel set.

You’ll notice different animations throughout the game. When you land a winning combination, you will see a beam of light trace whichever payline your winner was along. It’s not on the same level as something like the Warrior Ways slot but hey, it does the job.

And if you land two scatter symbols, you will see the other reels of the machine light up and spin one by one to reveal whether or not you have access to the bonus round.

Sticking to the theme of wealth and riches, the symbols in the game are the standard card symbols of 10, J, Q, K and A for the low payers, and moving up the pay list you will see some Ming vases, an Egyptian ornament, a sculpted rock, a Fabergé egg and other expensive looking trinkets. The owners are obviously collectors!

Of course, there is also a Wild symbol and two bonus symbols that do different things.

Bust the Mansion Gameplay

Besides the animations and graphic design which is on a par with the Direct Hit slot, the game runs smoothly and this game features the Link&Win feature that you may have seen on other games and which is the key to the big action.

Bonus Features

The base game is enjoyable enough, but the two different bonus features are the main draw on Bust the Mansion. From the base game, you activate the two bonus features as follows

Link&Win
The first bonus round is the Link Win feature, in which you are aiming to land 6 of the Money Vault symbols on your reels. At the left-hand side of your reels, you can see six red lights (all switched off initially), which will light up depending on how many money vaults land on a spin. If you land six or more , you will trigger the Link Win feature.

During this round, all of the money vault symbols become sticky. You are granted three respins, hopefully to land more of the money vaults as you get another respin for every additional money vault. If you manage to fill the whole reel machine with money vault symbols, you win the grand prize visible at the top of the screen.

Standard Bonus
The other bonus feature is triggered by landing three or more of the Scatter symbols. Thos are the Key symbols. During this bonus round, you are given 10, 15 or 25 free spins for 3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols respectively. In these free spins, the middle reel is replaced with a unique reel that only lands money vault symbols, and these symbols are also Wild during these spins.

This can again help trigger the Link Win feature during the bonus round and can result in some nice runs.

Conclusion

Overall, the bust the Mansion slot by Pulse 8 Studios is very playable, athough the design is nothing special. The two bonus features, most notably the Link Win feature, can prove generous if you get lucky with your three respins. If you happen to win the grand jackpot, well then it’s happy days. You really will have busted the mansion.
