Grab your coat and scarf Wombat Fans, because where we’re going, it’s going to be a bit parky!
You don’t believe me? Well fire up this little beauty- the Wolf Cub slot- and you’ll see the wee fella’s breath condensing every time he opens his mouth. Having said that, things can get pretty hot under the fur on this game as you can win up to 115 free spins in the bonus round and there are up to 40,000 coins up for grabs if you hit a good run. Wolf Cub is a beautifully drawn game (it’s up there with the Dragon Wins slot in my opinion). Nice work, designers!
Now normally if I see a handsome wild dingo out in the bush I run a mile as they tend to be hungry, but the Wolf Cub looks OK to me. Apart from that dog breath….
This game fits nicely into a long line up of excellent cartoon games like the Jack Hammer slot and Top Cat. Paws to the buttons Wombat fans!
Look and Feel
If you like cartoon slots, you are going to love this one- Net Ent have pulled out all of the stops to make this game as fun and engaging as possible. There’s the Wolf Cub of course, who sits with you on the reels like the queenie in the Cleo’s Wish slot machine guiding you (hopefully) to big wins. Then there’s a big ol’ bear, a moose, a wild cat and an owl all frolicking in the winter snow. The lower paying symbols are made up with playing card symbols.
This game has 20 pay-lines, 5 reels and 3 rows- nothing exceptional there. The lines are fixed by the way, just in case you thought you’d play around on that front. It does have some nice features though including paw print wilds, free spins scatters (the full moon symbol) and a Blizzard Feature. We’ll go into these in more detail below.
You’ll need 3 or more full moon scatters anywhere on the reel to trigger the free games and once you get in, all the reels that have a scatter on them spin with numbers of free spins on them. Wait of the reel to stop, as that will show you how many free games you will actually receive. You spin in the free spins in other words!
This is where things start getting fun. In the free spins round, you may see symbols like that big ol’ bear stack up across all three rows on the first reel. If that happens, all the other matching symbols will back-fill to the first reel. You’ll get a blizzard of symbols and a blizzard of wins, in other words!
The Wolf Cub slot has been designed as an easy to play “out of the box” slot, with minimal tinkering needed. Other than setting your bet level and coin value, you just click and go. The graphics are nicely done without being overly sophisticated- but hey, we are talking wolves here and not highly intelligent marsupials such as your truly. I mean “Arooooooooo!” It’s hardly a great conversation starter is it?
That said, if you want an easy game to play that come with some nice extras like the Blizzard feature for instance, the Wold Cub slot is worth getting your paws on. With up to 115 free spins to be won, plus a 40,000 coin payout- it can also be a nice payer if you hit a purple patch.
