Tetris Extreme Mega Drop
The wombat says: Tetris Extreme Mega Drop slot from Red7 for NYX Interactive is based on 90s Nintendo block game Tetris, that we all had on our Nokias. This is the game that has inspired a whole bunch of copycats like Honey Rush, Cygnus and quite a few more that we could mention.
So what’s the deal? Well, instead of landing matching symbols on adjacent reels like in standard slots, here, you’ll make wins with classic Tetris shapes. And the more lines that you clear, the bigger the multiplier you receive (it goes all the way up to a x50). It´s a mechanic that spawned a hundred imitations (with some truly epic ones like the Gold Volcano slot, but that´s another conversation). Tetris was where it all started though.
But that’s not all, there’s also 3 progressive jackpots that give add the ‘drop’ element to the title – but more on those later… EEK!
Look and Feel
The slot looks very much like your standard game of Tetris, with your grid filled with multicoloured Tetrominoes all waiting to be matched and set on a black and purple star filled background. You’ll also be treated to the original and epic soundtrack to the game – which put a big smile on this wombat’s chops!
Tetris Extreme Mega Drop slot is played on a 7×10 grid just like the original game – and it comes with a Cluster Pays system. So, to create a winner, you’ll need to land a cluster of at least 9 matching Tetrominoes vertically and horizontally. That’s more in plan than the Eskimo Dough slot with its 4096 Ways to Win!
On each spin, the Tetris shapes fall down onto the grid. Any complete lines are also removed from the grid so that more Tetrominoes shapes replace them and potentially create more winning combinations. And, with each new winning combo you make the the multiplier meter increases. They start at 1x but increase to 50x! On a non-win spin, the multiplier will reset back to 1x.
FYI: There are no Wilds or Scatters icons in the game.
Free Spins and Bonuses
To the left of the Tetris grid, you’ll spy multiplier meter which increases when you achieve consecutive wins. Fill up the gauge by landing 15x of them (which is harder than it sounds) and you’ll set off Free Spins Bonus. Next, you’ll get 10 free drops and things will get really exciting…
A gold Tetromino will now be added to your grid icons. When this shiny fella forms part of a winning combination, your current multiplier is multiplied by x5. Potentially this can reach 250x your bet – which is, quite frankly, bonkers. Oh, and land another 15 wins in a row and you’ll to re-trigger the bonus feature…
As far as this wombat is concerned, the best bit about this game are the Mega Drop Jackpots – and there are 3, Epic, Major, and Minor! These can be randomly dropped on any given spin, although you’ll stand a better chance of winning one if your stake is on the higher side. The payouts range from between £20,000 and £200,000.
Once they’ve been scooped, each jackpot resets back to around 25% of its value and builds up all over again. Good luck Wombat fans!
Wombat fans – even if you missed out on Tetris the first time round, Tetris Extreme Mega Drop slot is worth a spin! The gameplay is hypnotic, the multipliers are super exciting and it’s perfect if you’re looking something little bit different from your standard slots.
And don’t forget those jackpots…
