Striker Goes Wild
The Wombat says: If you love both football and slots, then Eyecon’s soccer- themed game, Striker Goes Wild slot, will be right up your street! Yes that’s right, I said ‘soccer’. Well, I am an Australian after all, and footie means Aussie Rules football in my book. Sorry about that.
That’s not to say I don’t like kicking a round ball around and I love playing the Foxin’ Wins Football Fever slot as much as this game, but I thought I’d get that off my chest straight away.
Anyway back to the slot… According to the gamemakers themselves: ‘The ref blows his whistle and the game is underway. With Striker Goes Wild slot you can feel the excitement like never before, as two rival strikers vie to be the best and you spin to win. Sliding tackles, bicycle kicks and headers are all there, so get ready to shout GOAL!’
Well that all sounds mighty impressive, but will it turn out to be a champions league slot? Or more like a fourth division version… Get stretching Wombat Fans it’s time to hit the pitch and find out…
Jackpot Version
Like a lot of Eyecon games, there are two Strikers up front in this game. There´s the standard game and there´s the Striker Goes Wild Jackpot slot.
This version comes with extra jackpots: on the Striker Goes Wild Progressive Jackpot game, you will also be playing for three networked jackpots: the Maxi, Mega and Mini. Every time a bet is placed across the network of Eyecon games and casinos, the pots increase. Let´s hope you slot the ball between the posts.
About the developer
Originally a computer gaming company, Eyecon (who are famous for games like the Fluffy Favourites slot and others) was founded in 1997 but moved over into the online casino world a few years later (which was a very sensible decision indeed). These fellow Aussies are probably most famous for Fluffy Favourites slot that proved a big hit with you slot fans.
They also like ice-cream as you will know if you have ever played the 99 Time slot – I have trouble with this one, because every time I play it I tend to drool onto my keyboard. Have a napkin handy if you try their sweeter slot!
Look and Feel
Ronaldo and his famous free kick (well, we think it’s Ronaldo) pop up on the screen when you fire up the game, and we liked this, but to be honest the rest of the graphics are on the average side…
We did enjoy the guitar heavy soundtrack though.
Striker Goes Wild Slot Game Play
Striker Goes Wild slot has 5 reels 3 rows and 25 paylines. Your symbols on the reels are made up of football-themed stuff and include a trophy, some footie spikes, the goal, the ref’s whistle and of course, the football itself as your high value symbols, meanwhile the standard playing cards 10, J, Q, K & A make up your lower value symbols
The football symbols represents the Wild in this game and will do the usual job of substituting for all other symbols on the reels except for the Scatter symbol to help you rake in extra winning combos…
The Scatter in this game is the symbol with the 2 strikers head-to-head on it.
Free Spins and Bonus Features
This slot has just the one bonus, and it’s called the Striker Goes Wild Feature. You can trigger off this feature by landing 3x or more of the striker Scatter symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4. Next you’ll see a team pass the ball to the goal in pattern that is displayed over the top of the reels – this will then turn all the symbols in that pattern into Wild symbols giving you a load of new winning combos.
Gamble Option
This cheeky extra can be activated after any win Wombat Fans and will either pay you double or nothing on that last win. To double your money, guess correctly one of the two choices on offer. You can keep on playing until you decide to ‘Take Win’ or if your next win exceeds £32,000. Play carefully though. This feature isn’t available in all countries.
Conclusion
Not bad. The wild-based bonus feature in Striker Goes Wild slot is an original bit of game play, but the rest of it is a bit on the basic side to be honest. Still, at 96.50% the RTP isn’t bad, so footie fans should give it a go.
