Do you know what my favourite Wombat Snack is? Noodles. And not those student pot noodles, I’m talking about fresh, steaming hot Japanes noodles with all the bits.
Which is why my little furry tummy is beginning to rumble as I talk about the Samurai Split slot: we are heading east to the Land of the Rising Steam off the Noodles with all the yummy bits in. Let’s talk turkey shall we and check out this great little game from Next Gen.
You are going to be needing your sword for this one and put on some of that funky samurai armour while you are at it while we fire up this beautifully designed 25 line 5 reel slot. We haven’t had this much fun since the Jack Hammer slot and that’s one of our favourite games of all time.
Look and Feel
You’ll feel like you’re the main character in a manga slot in this medium volatility game. It’s all beautifully drawn with the samurai warrior as your top paying symbol followed by the pagoda, the warrior on horse back, the sword and the …what is that? A bottle of sake? Low pay symbols are made up out of the usual playing card symbols.
The Samurai Split slot has some pretty neat features. That samurai fella isn’t playing around with his big sword for nothing. He may jump into action in the Split Symbol bonus- he can split any winning symbol giving you bigger rewards on a win. Prizes can be multiplied up to 32x. A winning combo with 1,2,3,4 or 5 split symbols will pay 2,4,8,16 or 32x the prize respectively, so get your man to use his sword!
There is also a Warrior Spin bonus hanging about. On any spin, you might see this kick off- you’ll then see either a wild, mask, temple, horse, sword, bottle or scatter. If you are lucky, this will net you another win.
Free Games Bonanza
Now hang on to your funny hats, as this is where the Samurai Split slot gets really interesting, because you can win up to 480 free games on this game. Holy Tokyo! The big one comes in if you see all 5 scatters that are subsequently split.
If your day is more average Joe, you will get 5, 10 or 15 free spins when 3.4 or 5 scatters appear respectively- not bad either, you certainly won’t be throwing sushi rolls at it.
And here’s the really good bit (cue drum roll, set off fireworks). The free spins can re-trigger in the bonus round. Kapow!
There is also a wild symbol (easy to spot as it says WILD on it). As per usual, this will stand in for all symbols except for the scatters.
We loved this bright manga style game from NextGen, but then we’re a sucker for anything Japanese. Any country that can manage to come up with Space Invaders (thought up by Tomohiro Nishikado back in in 1978) gets our vote.
Ganbarou! (がんばろう！) That’s Good luck in Japanese in case you were wondering (did I mention that I took a First in Oriental Languages at Cambridge).
May your noodles be steaming hot and plentiful, I wish you good sushi my spinning friends.
