The look and feel of the slot is a bit confusing for this Wombat to be honest- it’s a long way from the likes of the Fortunes of Sparta slot machine– but still, let’s see how it spins!
Game Play
Old King Cole slot is made up of 5 reels 3 rows and 20 pay-lines – which is the standard fare from Microgaming and some way shy of games like the Redroo slot with its 1024 Ways to Win. But that just means the variance (or volatiltity) is different.
Your symbols on the reels include a lurid-looking bowl of cereal (?), the hookah pipe, the guitar strumming girl band, an ornate-looking crown, and the King himself with a very big cheesy grin.

The King’s Crown is the game’s Scatter, the slot has 2 Wilds the Gold Disc symbol and the Old King Cole logo.
Both will do the usual job of Wild and will substitute for all the other symbols on your reels except for the Scatter, however the Gold Disc Wild will only be in play during the Free Spins round, during the base game it will act is a normal symbol.

Conclusion
Well, this is a funny old slot isn’t it? We don’t think Microgaming have pulled off the theme all that well. I mean who wants to pimp up Old King Cole? Not us. We also found the Free Spins round quite hard to trigger, but if you do manage to set off the bonus, the x7 multiplier and extra Wilds can make playing it very worthwhile, it redeems itself on that feature! Overall not a bad slot.
