The wombat says: Premier Multi Hand Bonus Blackjack comes to you from Microgaming (quite a mouthful isn’t it?) and they certainly out out all the stops with this polished little table game from the Premier series. As always, the basic Blackjack gameplay revolves around the player trying to get their hand to 21 in order to beat the dealer, but this Premier version is very special indeed, as you can also choose between playing 4 different games and there are side bets on offer. But more on this below… Let’s dive straight in!
Look and Feel
Are you suited and booted? Well you’ll need to be, as the ‘Premier’ in the game’s title refers to the high quality style of the graphics (as well as the slick gameplay Wombat fans). Sound effects include the satisfying swish cards of the cards as they are dealt to your hand from the shoe, and of course the requisite soothing jazz piano soundtrack. We also love how helpful strategy hints appear at the bottom of the screen…
And, as with other Blackjack versions in Microgaming’s Premier series, you also have the option to change tables. Yes, you can personalise your game by playing on different coloured felts and with different play variants to shake things up a bit if the mood takes you, plus you can even choose how you want the cards to appear; small medium or large!
Players can play up to 5 hands at once (hence Multi-hand of the title, although you will need to place an individual bet for each hand) and the rules follow standard Blackjack; Blackjack pays 3:2, Insurance wins pay 2:1 and the Dealer must stand on Soft 17. Players can split 3 times to make 4 hands, giving us a mind-boggling potential 20 hands (errr, ‘go-go gadget arms’!!!)
There are four different game modes to choose from, and each offers something different game play to us players:
Multihand is the European Blackjack version of the game where there are 2 decks in play at any given time. This allows players the opportunity to split and double as often as they like.
Multihand Bonus This is the game you are already playing. The rules are the same as the Multihand mode (played with 2 decks), but there is an extra bonus side bet on each hand.
This is the same as the Multihand version, but with an additional bet on a winning streak. Consecutive winning hands are the key to making the most out of this mode. Hurrah!
In this game you place a side bet on the first two cards you are dealt which means you can win at Blackjack and the High or Low side game. It’s a nice touch.
Wowsers! This Wombat’s mind is officially blown with all the options.
This cracking Blackjack version also comes with some cheeky side bets (hence the Bonus in the title). In each hand, you can place a side bet on what your opening hand will be. The max size of this bet can only go up to 25.00. You have the potential for a 50:1 payout for two Jack and Ace of Spades or a 25:1 max payout for suited Jacks and suited Ace. With 5 hands in play this could look to a mind-blowing jackpot on offer….
Two words: Must play. Stellar gameplay with a wealth of personalised options make the Blackjack version a seamless one.
