The wombat says: Microgaming’s Premier Blackjack Hi Lo Gold adds a rather nice twist to your traditional variants Wombat Fans. Like many Microgaming variants, it follows the rules of European Blackjack in general, but there is also an optional side bet that allows for Hi Lo bonus payouts – but more on the ins and outs of those cheeky monkeys below! And being one of Microgaming’s Premier series, it offers a whole host of of top-notch player-friendly options, too. Let’s get stuck in!
Look and Feel
The graphics are nothing short of excellent Wombat Fans, with a hi-res blackjack table and a whole load of slick attention to detail to boot. The animations are super smooth (we love how the cards slide out of the shoe with a ‘click’ ) while the background music and general hubbub will fully immerse you in the sophisticated casino vibe.
Premier Blackjack Hi Lo Gold also gives you the option to completely change up your game play . You can personalise the table by clicking on the ‘Change Table’ button and next you will get the chance to pick from 4 different versions of Blackjack all played on different coloured felts. We like this a lot!
As always, the aim of the game is to draw cards as close to 21 as possible, and/or beat the dealer. Premier Blackjack Hi Lo Gold uses 2 standard decks for its single hand game, and this version of Blackjack also comes with very liberal betting limits, which allows players to bet as much as their bank balances can handle. It’s not for the faint-hearted! The minimum bet is £1 and it goes as high as £200 per hand. EEEK!
As mentioned above, players have 4 different game play modes to choose from:
This is the European variant where there are 2 decks in play at any given time. This allows players the opportunity to split and double as often as they like.
The High Streak version is the same as the above but with an additional bet on a winning streak. Consecutive winning hands are the key to making the most out of this mode. Hurrah!
Multihand Bonus Here the rules are the same as you’ll find in Multihand mode, but there is an extra bonus side bet on each hand.
This is the game you are already playing with a single hand. Here you also have the option to place a side bet on your first 2 cards.
Here you can place a bet on what you think the combined value of your first two cards will be; either higher or lower or equal to 13 ( hence the name of the game!) The payout is 1:1 for the first two, and is 10:1 if you land an equal to 13.
We are big fans of this kind of side bet Blackjack fans, because even if you lose the hand in the main game, you can still boosts your winnings. Oh, and a little FYI: for the purposes of the side bets, any Ace in your hand will count as 1. This means that any Blackjack hand will scoop you the Lo bet.
It’s another cracker from Microgaming. The hi lo side bet gives this standard Blackjack variant a completely different spin, and can make losing a hand a sweet thing after all! Get playing immediately!
