What’s the Deal?

Get a taste of all things Japanese in Pachinko by Neko Games and Microgaming. This game is a type of bingo and is very popular in Japan. In fact, did you know that it’s played by one in every ten people? I’ve just come off Ingots of Cai Shen, just over the East China Sea, so I am all primed for this one.

Pachinko has 19 winning patterns, which means there’s 19 different ways to land a win. And you can play with up to four tickets per round.

There’s also a 5,000x jackpot prize (which seems like heaps of wonga for a round of ruddy bingo!) It’s a different kind of game like Super Shamrock scratch. Well, it’s a bit more complex than that, but you get my drift….

So, let’s take a look at this game in some serious Wombat detail.

Graphics and Theme

The play takes place on a traditional Japanese Minka house. The background is snow-topped mountains and there‘s some cherry blossom to the right of your screen too.

You’ll also see a lucky white cat (a Maneki-Neko) with its raised paw upward – which is considered a symbol of good luck in Japan and China. Nice little moggy. This game is cuter than the Sweet Crush slot from Tom Horn.

Chirping crickets in the background and some Japanese pan pipes both add to the Oriental atmosphere.

Game Play

The first thing you need to do is select the number of cards you want to play with, Wombat fans – there are 4 on offer. Then place your bets from 0.05 up to 10.00 credits per card.

It’s pretty simple get going on Pachinko; all you need to do is launch your balls at the board by clicking on the spin button.

The aim of the game is to get as many balls as possible that match the numbers on the cards.  Matching numbers are then highlighted on the cards to form a pattern – and there are 19 of these patterns that will scoop you wins!

If you get a full house of matching numbers on one card, you’ll also get an instant win of x2000 your bet.

But, fill in all  matching numbers on all 4 cards and you’ll scoop that massive jackpot of 5000x your bet.

Side Bonuses

Wild Balls
Once a regular ball has been bought, you will receive a wild ball at random .

Wild balls are basically the same as Wild icons in slots. But the difference is, here, you get to choose which number it will replace! Awesome.

To give you a helping hand, the number with the highest payout potential is highlighted to show your best option.

Free Balls
Here, you could scoop up to 5x free balls if you activate the double line option. Now all of the extra balls can become free balls. Cheers Neko!

Maneki-Neko Feature
This bonus game is set off after a particular pattern has been completed.
Now, 5x cute Maneki-Neko kittens each with a different hidden reward value will now appear. Pick a lucky cat, if the Maneki Neko cat you pick has a prize, you will receive it instantly and level up, but if it has or an exit sign underneath your game is over.

Conclusion

Neko Gaming have done a great job with the design here, and this wombat loves the side games, too.

All in all Pachinko is a lot of fun for casual gamers, and those of you who need a break from Slotland.

Wombat score: 4.5/5
