100% Welcome up to 200.00*
The wombat says: Halloween isn’t much of thing in The Outback. And if it was up to me it would stay like that. ‘Trick or treat? Sorry kiddos, my Haribo stash is for me and me only ‘ – that would be my response if some sugar-starved rug rats came a-knocking at my door dressed up as vampires and skeletons.
Still, everyone else seems to love it, and All Hallows Eve is welcome excuse not only for terrorising your neighbours and wearing ‘sexy zombie’ costumes, but it’s also a popular theme for slots!
Which brings us nicely to this Microgaming release, the Lucky Witch slot. Well, they made the Eagle’s Wings slot machine – so things flying around on reels is something they do well.
Look and Feel
Lucky Witch slot has a rather cheerful take on the entire Halloween theme. It’s more Pixie Gold slot than Dead World zombies. Our protagonist, the lucky witch, is far from being the hook-nosed old crone you might expect. Rather the opposite in fact, as this dark sorceress is sporting a corset and is one hot lady! The graphics are a bit outdated but they do the job, while the soundtrack manages to be jaunty and spooky at the same time.
Lucky Witch Game Play
Lucky Witch has 5 reels, 3 rows and 15 pay-lines, less than say the Piggy Fortunes slot, and indeed we would put this down as a pretty volatile slot, so set your spin budget thoughtfully. The overall theme evolves around magic and features the entire inventory of a successful Halloween party: potions and cauldrons, (un)lucky black cats, wise owls, newts bathed in candlelight, gargoyles, crystals and of course the quintessential carved-out pumpkins.
The lucky witch acts as Wild in the slot. When it completes any winning combination, it also multiplies winning by 2.
A self-respecting Microgaming slot would not be complete with a Scatter symbol, and this game it is the magic potion. 3x of these will trigger off the bonus round where 13 (hopefully not that unlucky) Free Spins are yours.
Lucky Witch Bonuses
There are actually 4 bonus games in Lucky Witch slot, aside from the Free Spins. Your bonus round is activated when the cauldron filled with bubbling green frog’s-eye-soup (aka the Magic Bonus Symbol) lands simultaneously on reels 1, 3, and 5. Next you must choose from either the Magic Potion game, the Pick-a-Pumpkin, the Secret Vault bonus or the Spell Book bonus game. Each of which are detailed below:
In the Spell Book Bonus, you need to pick 1 of 3 Books to reveal a hidden multiplier, which can be up to a massive x 52. With a bit of luck, a magic imp will also appear giving you additional multipliers.
In the Magic Potion Bonus you pick from 12 Bottles to collect instant wins however, finding the “Win All” feature will scoop you ALL the cash prizes offered. Be careful not to pick the deadly poison though, is this will bring your bonus to an abrupt end. Sad face.
In the Secret Vault bonus you are presented with 12 vaults each with random bonus amounts behind them. You need to choose 3 of these vaults, and then whittle it down to 1 – pick whichever you think has the largest amount hidden behind it!
And finally, in the Pumpkin Game you can choose between 5 pumpkins, each associated with a random bonus. Once the bonus amount has been revealed you can either take the prize or make a new selection. Nice!
This game has quite a bit of charm Wombat Fans. We loved ALL bonus games, each of them is completely different and some chunky wins can be made here. This means there’s a lot to explore, and the surprises will keep on coming at you even after hours of playing. Lucky Witch is a slot for all seasons, not just for Halloween! Highly recommended.
Wombat score: 5/5
