The Series

I loved the first two instalments of the Lara Croft slot games series and when the Lara Croft Temples and Tombs slot launched, I headed out of my burrow and straight into play mode.

This could be Games Global’s most visually pleasing slot game since the launch of Village People and is well put together.

Look and Feel

Lara Croft Temples and Tombs is the third instalment of the Tomb Raider series. This action takes place in a temple ruin and the reels take centre stage.

Each of the game’s colourful icons is set on stone tablets. Above the reels you’ll see a woven basket crammed with coins and jewels, the temple’s prize: go Lara! The tablets drop in from above and settle on the play grid. So rather than spins, we get “falls”.

This is a good-looking game alright, we’d put it up there with the likes of the Dead or Alive slot or Jungle Jim.

The Lara Croft Temples and Tombs slot machine is set over three rows, five reels and has 243 Ways to Win. It looks fantastic across all sizes of devices.

The highest-scoring icons are four images of the action girl herself, who appears in different action poses. The top scoring symbol is Lara in portrait mode, but there’s also Lara on a motorbike, her springing into action, and her aiming down the barrel of a pistol.

Lara’s portrait symbol is worth 50x your wager, for five of her across an active pay-line. Other big scoring symbols are a pair of scary-looking stone statues (she’s an archaeologist after all).

The lower-value icons are the tools of the adventurer: torches, water bottles, a backpack, a grappling hook and a climbing rope.

The Archaeologist’s mascot: the ancient Egyptian Scarab beetle, the symbol of life, is the Wild symbol which will substitute for all icons except the Scatter symbol which is the dusty old book.

Rolling Reels

The base game comes packed with Rolling Reels. Once you’ve been lucky enough to make a win, the winning icons are replaced by new icons, giving you two bites at the cherry.

For each consecutive win you make, you will be awarded a multiplier that builds and tops out at 5x. If you fail to make another win then the multipliers will reset back to 2x and will nudge back up again to 3x and then 5x.
