King Cashalot
King Cashalot is no longer available at Wombat Casino -sorry about that.
The King Cashalot progressive slot certainly lives at to it’s name. At the time of writing, the jackpot was sitting pretty at $655,622. Oh hang on, now it’s $655,623. Wait, sorry, it’s $655,624.
And herein lies the problem for a simple Wombat like myself describing how much you could win on this game, as the jackpot keeps ticking up the more people who play it. It’s a progressive jackpot of course, like the Dolphin Gold Stellar Jackpots slot: it’s on the move!
On average the jackpot pays out around 700 grand every year or so. The luckiest King Cashalot player on record won $1,527,228 in April 2011. Thank you very much, don’t mind if I do!
Let’s look at the actual game shall we, as I’m getting all hot under the collar talking about these big numbers! This is a clasically designed game from the same era as the likes of the Hitman slot, Tomb Raider and Mermaids Millions. All good ‘uns by the way!
King Cashalot is an attractive looking Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table type game (Cashalot, sounds like Camelot maybe?), with a wise looking king sporting a hipster beard and fistfuls of cash (it looks like he’s saying “loadsamoney!” doesn’t it?), jesters, a smiley queen who looks like she likes her pottage, a handsome prince and a beautiful red-headed princess. Who said people’s teeth were rotten in Medieval times? This lot’s gnashers are positively gleaming! It’s a game of a similar era to the Big Kahuna Snakes & Ladders slot– many of these classic games remain wildly popular.
The lower paying symbols include a slab of ham, a roast chicken, fish, jelly and some fruit- they obviously like their food, these Medievals.
The King Cashalot slot is a pretty simple game to play. There are 9 pay-lines (you can pick from 1 to 9). just select the number of coins you want to bet per line and off you go.
The Kings are wild and will stand in for other symbols to make up wins, plus your win will be doubled. (They won’t stand in for scatter symbols or Treasure Bonus symbols though- more on the latter below).
The jester is the scatter symbol. Unlike most games these days, these won’t trigger a bonus round, but you don’t need them to be on an activated pay-line to trigger a win- they can be scattered anywhere, as long as they’re visible (hence the name of course). 5 scatters will pay out 50x your total bet and the wins will be added to any pay-line wins.
Pay attention wombats! This is the important bit. For a chance of winning that humungous jackpot with the cherries on top, you will need to “Bet Max” (all 9 lines, 5 coins per line) and you will need to land 5 Kings on the 9th pay-line. Got that? Now, get to it!
The image should gives you a clear idea of the glorious 9th pay-line on this slot. It runs along the bottom for 2 reels, then takes in the middle symbol of the middle reel before finishing up on the top 2 far-right symbols on reels 4 and 5.
There’s one other bonus that I need to tell you about, and that’s the Treasure Bonus which involves the Golden Dragon symbols.
If you land one of these puppies scattered anywhere on the middle 3 reels (2, 3 or 4), you trigger the Treasure Bonus- wins from this bonus are added to any pay-line wins, just like the Jester scatter bonus.
This is a bright and cheerful 5 reel slot with some great little extra bonuses. The lack of a side bonus game is compensated by the fact that you could win a BIG pile of money playing it. It’s a shame it’s not available for mobile players though.
It could be you, baby! But please can we have a mobile version Mr Microgaming?
