The wombat says: Roooooooaaaaaaaar! Following on from the original Jurassic Park slot (also created in partnership with Universal Pictures) Microgaming, the design house behind such classics as the Isis slot, Tomb Raider and, yes, Jurassic Park – have just released their much-anticipated new game Jurassic World 3D!
The movie was 4th highest grossing film of all time, but will the slot be a huge blockbuster too? Well we absolutely loved the first game, so let’s fire up the dino reels to find out…
Look and Feel
As you’d expect Wombat Fans, the graphics here are top notch. The dinos are perfect 3D copies of their movie counterparts, while the backdrop to the reels is a view of Jurassic World park in all its glory. Add the original score and clips from the film and you could be in Jurassic World yourselves! It’s all a big dino step up from their more traditional games like Vinyl Countdown. Oh, and it looks great on mobile too.
Jurassic World has 5 reels, 3 rows and is a ‘243 ways to win’ slot – which means you can say a ‘goodbye’ to paylines! Your symbols on the reels include 6 dinosaurs; the Velociraptor, the Pteranodon, the Stegosaurus, the Ankylosaurus, the T-Rex and the genetically engineered bad boy, Indominus as your low paying symbols. These beasts are a lot more scary than the bear on the Santa Paws slot, that’s for sure!
Then 4 characters from the film; Owen Brady, Vic Hoskins, Claire Dearing and Jurassic World owner Simon Masrani make up the high value symbols on the reels.
Just like the original slot, the Jurassic World logo acts as the Wild symbol which substitutes for all symbols (except the scatter) to help you land lucrative winning combos – and they also land stacked which is even better.
The mosquito encased in amber symbol is the Scatter, and not only do they trigger the Jurassic World Bonus Round by getting 3x of them, if you only manage to land x2 at the same time, they’ll also turn into extra Wilds. Nice!
Jurassic World Bonus Features
Indominus Rex Bonus
The Indominus Rex feature which is triggered randomly in the base game after any winning spin, is a monster-sized bonus. The dangerous dino because will roar his way onto your reels and add a random multiplier of up to a staggering 1000x to the win. Wow.
Land 3x or more of the Amber Scatters anywhere on the reels and you’ll set off the mighty Free Spins feature! Next you’ll get the chance to explore 3 different locations inside of the Dino Park, each with different features:
Here it’s 10 free spins for you with a multiplier trail. The multiplier begins at 2x and increases by 1x on each non-win spin you land. It goes up to 7x. But even better, once your 10 free spins have finished, the feature will keep on going until you get a win.
It’s 10 Free Spins again! But this time with Rolling Reels. After you land a winning combo, the symbols are removed from the reels and replaced with new ones – meaning you can win several times from the same Free Spin. Cryo Wilds are also added to the reels, which are frozen in place for 3 wins before melting away, but if they form part of a win, they’ll be sticky on the reels but drop down a row.
Enter at your peril! You get 10 free spins with Wild Scatters in the Raptor Den. All scatters act as Wilds during the feature with Scatters held in place til you are awarded extra free spins. Landing 3x or more scatters will give you another extra 5 free spins taking your total to 15. Whoop whoop!
This wombat LOVES Jurassic World slot. The graphics are beyond amazing (especially the movie clips that pop up all the time ) and we cannot fault the bonus features. There’s also the potential for some chunky wins in the base game from the Stacked Wilds, while the random appearance of Indominus Rex on your reels if you’ve just landed a decent win can be very very lucrative. So it’s official: Jurassic World is a hit, just like the movie!
