Jacks or Better
Jacks or Better
The wombat says: card games aren’t really on the radar of many hardcore Slot Fans- I don’t know why, because the payout tends to be pretty good.
If you’re looking for a Jacks or Better casino to try a new kind of game, say if you are experiencing Latent Slot Fatigue (or LSF as it’s called among experts) and need some therapy for this debilitating condition, you’ve come to the right place.
Here in the outback we treat it with an old bush remedy: a lengthy and wholesome session game of Video Poker. Try it on your mobile or tablet.
Let’s self-medicate with Jacks or Better, shall we?
Look & Feel
In terms of graphics Jacks or Better is a functional affair from Genii- the people behind the Le Chocolatier slot, Joker Poker and Legends of Olympia among others.
In a no nonsense manner your 5 cards are displayed at the bottom of the screen, above the cards is the pay-table that shows potential wins in coin denomination and in a panel on the left hand side you’ll get an overview of the winning combos you managed to scoop in the current round.
Everything is clearly laid out, and there are few bells and whistle to distract you from your playing the perfect strategy.
Jacks or Better Game Play
Genii are pretty good at video poker games and they do the Jacks or Better variant well. Jacks or Better is a well known variant of online poker, and the title already gives away the main difference – in this game you can win with a pair of Jacks or anything higher.
In the regular version the minimum hand for winning something is a 3 of a kind.
As in most poker games, a hand of Jacks or Better starts with your bet. You are then dealt 5 cards which you can either keep, or discard in order to attempt to gain a better hand. Simply chose “Hold” for the cards you wish to keep and then click on “Draw” again.
To make things a little easier for you, any winning cards will be automatically flagged as “Hold”.
Your winning hands are almost identical to the one in standard poker: The 4 highest combinations are: Royal Flush (which will pay you x 250 your stake on the lowest bet level). Then there is also straight flush, 4 of a kind, full house, 3 of a kind, standard flush & straight, and 2 pairs. And as the lowest hand there is, you’ll find our eponymous of Jacks or better.
If you’ve won then you can decide to either play it safe and cash out, or you can also gamble with it further. By guessing either the colour or the suit of a hidden card you can double or quadruple the initial win up to 5 times.
This means that if you go all in 5 times in a row, you’ll have the chance to multiply your win by x1024 (if my maths is right). This however, is an extremely risky manoeuvre as it only take one wrong guess to kiss your money goodbye…
Conclusion
If you’ve notice the first symptoms of LSF, act quickly Wombat Fans and fire up Jacks or Better. The Bush Doctor recommends this video poker variant first and foremost due to its very favourable RTP (return to player). At over 98% this game is about 2% higher than your standard slot – just what you need to get you back on your feet again!
