The wombat says: Have we got some good news for all you horror fans! If you are at all squeamish, look away now, or head to a friendlier game like the Neon Jungle slot or Ted.
Those terrifyingly good slotmakers at Microgaming have produced a brand new game called the Halloween Slot based on the iconic John Carpenter movie from the 1970s. Who could forget maniacal slasher Micheal Myers? Certainly not this wombat. He gave us the heebie jeebies for years…
Yes this super scary Halloween movie slot revolves around the film that made more than $70 million at the box office on just a $300,000 budget just in time for Halloween this year. And as a Microgaming release, we all know it’s going to be something special. So let’s fire up the reels and see if this game will be a trick or a treat…
Look and Feel
Just as you’d expect the game design is every bit as creepy and sinister as the movie. This is not a Halloween game like the Witch Pickings slot with it’s friendly girls on broom sticks. Be warned! The reels are set on the house where the events of the famous horror film occur, while thunder and lightning rage in the background, along with loads of leaves (just to remind you that we’re in Autumn). We think it also looks a bit like the Psycho slot from NextGen, that’s just as spinechilling.
The Halloween slot from Microgaming has 5 reels, 4 rows and 50 paylines. Your symbols on the reels include: matches, knitting needles and wool, telephones, creepy clown masks, knives and guns, plus the 4 main characters from the film (Annie, Loomis, Lynda and Laurie). Your highest paying symbol on the reels is Lynda; land 5x of these icons appear on the highest bet level and you’ll scoop a no-so-scary 30x your stake.
There are plenty of features on this slot- not as many as you’ll find on the Wish Upon a Jackpot slot, but then that game is off the scale. Halloween has more than enough to keep you entertained.
The wild symbol is the Halloween logo which replaces the other symbols (except the scatter) to help you form extra a winning combinations. The Scatter in Microgaming’s Halloween slot is the Bonus symbol. Keep your eyes peeled for this beauty as it will trigger off a whole host of extras.
The unique Wandering Reel feature sees groups of 3 reels spin together. The Wandering Reel will stop in 1 of the 3 positions and this will determine which reels will be played and with how many paylines. Plus the Wandering Reel also contains Jumbo Blocks, which are extra large symbols that spin in multiple reels giving you extra chances to win. Cheers Microgaming!
Trick or Treat Wheel
Land 3x or more of the Bonus scatters and you’ll set off trigger the Trick or Treat Wheel feature. This nice little extra sees you spin the wheel to win cash prizes or to access the 2 other bonus features.
Trigger off this random Bonus and you’ll picks to win cash prizes with multipliers or the Free Spins feature. The multiplier increases by 1 after each cash prize is won. Manage to find all 10 cash bonuses and you’ll scoop an extra 20x your bet. Sweet!
Land either Lynda, Annie, Loomis or Laurie during the Trick or Treat Wheel feature and 9 free spins will be yours – meanwhile the character that triggered the feature will appear on the reels most prominently during the free spins meaning the Wandering Reel will only display the relevant character for some big wins.
The Halloween slot from Microgaming is a cracker! Great design, innovative game mechanics and some lucrative extras, means we know exactly which game we’ll be playing this Halloween…
