Gods of Giza
This game is no longer available at Wombat Casino. Sorry about that chaps! Why not try Gods of Troy from Red Tiger Gaming instead?
The Great Pyramids at Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World and the oldest Egyptian monument known to man. This wombat loves the Egyptians – all that hidden treasure! In fact, back when I was a wee wombat it was my favourite topic at school in History. Then along came that movie, The Mummy, and I was totally sold. In my teenage years it was all Lara Croft of course (you can play with her on our Tomb Raider slot by the way- she likes the Pyramids).
Egyptian-themed slots are two penny, so how does this new slot from Genesis Gaming differ? Well, If you’re used to the standard 5 reels with 3 rows approach, Gods of Giza slot will take you by surprise. With 4 reels and 4 rows it presents you with square reels that look very slick and are totally unique. But don’t worry, Wombat Fans you still get 20 paylines, so less rows doesn’t mean fewer chances to win!
The makers of Gods of Giza slot have really channeled the Egyptian vibe too. The symbols on the reels look like ancient hieroglyphics while Goddess of Love Hathor and Goddess of Truth Ma’at oversee proceedings from either side of the reels. Then there’s the mystical harp and xylophone music along with crashing cymbals that speed up to epic proportions in the bonus round!
Genesis Gaming have taken the Egyptian theme even further by using the ancient Scarab beetle symbol as the Wild! But why the Scarab you ask? Well, it’s long been a symbol of significance in Ancient Egyptian mythology. The Egyptian god Khepri (who was actually Ra – yes they were multi-taskers those Gods), was often depicted as a scarab beetle or as a scarab-headed bloke. And, as far as the ancient Egyptians were concerned, this God could do no wrong.
They believed that Khepri renewed the sun every day before picking it up and taking it over the horizon through to the ‘other world’ after sunset. Anyway, this dude was of such importance that the Sacrab soon became a symbol of auspiciousness in Egypt, and still is today. As always, the Wild substitutes for any of the symbols except for the scatter.
The ankh is an ancient Egyptian hieroglyphic symbol meaning life, but here the golden Ankh makes up your Scatter symbol The Ankh can make its own wins, and all Scatter wins are multiplied by the total bet. Plus if you land 3 or more golden Ankhs you will activate Rotating Spins bonus round – giving you 8 Free Spins.
During each free spin, the reels rotate 90 degrees. Whoa! This moves the symbols into different positions to create new possible payline combinations. Throughout the whole round, the reels will rotate to complete a full 360 degree turn allowing for 4 payline win possibilities per spin. You can also re-trigger 8 more free spins during the Rotating Free Spins round. Even Double Play Superbet fails to match this on the feature front.
The Egyptian didn’t have mobiles, but that’s not going to stop you playing this on your phone or your tablet, as this game looks great on smaller screens.
The interesting and innovative reel structure and awesome rotating spins make this Egyptian-themed slot a joy to play. Spin to unlock the mystery of the ancient tombs and find untold hidden treasures within. We love it.
