European Roulette
The wombat says: According to Wikipedia, Roulette was invented by a French fella called Blaise Pascal, who ‘introduced a primitive form of roulette in the 17th century in his search for a perpetual motion machine’.
Well that’s a load of stuff and nonsense, for starters. Anyone with any sense knows that roulette was in fact discovered by my Great Great Uncle Barnaby, who was a world traveller and an all-round debauched individual. Sadly, the wily old marsupial fell into disarray in the slums of Paris and lost the rights to the roulette in a game of Cribbage – but enough about my family…
Today, roulette is one of the most popular casino games in the world, with all sorts of variants from Dolphin’s Roulette with a marine side bet (yes, really) to French versions . It’s also a game of 100% chance Wombat Fans, as players place bets on which slot the ball will drop into as the spinning wheel comes to a halt. Let’s give this new version a spin!
Look and Feel
European Roulette from 1×2 Gaming has a simple layout with a nice clear interface for picking your bets. We wouldn’t say it is as pretty as our Gamevy European roulette, but it does hold an ace up it’s sleeve called La Partage, but more on that below.
It features the standard hub-hub background of mumbling gamblers and the cheerful sounding croupier who announces the winning number. Those of you who like the glamorous Las Vegas Strip feel like the Six Shooter game will love it. We found it rather relaxing…What are those people chatting baout?
As we mentioned previously, the big news on this game, is that it follows the “La Partage” rule which you normally only find on French Roulette games. What’s that I hear you ask? I saw your little ears prick up then you naughty Wombat Fans. Is that a medium-sized non-migratory game bird that hangs about in pear trees I hear you mumble?
Well no, La Partage is a nifty little roulette rule where you get half of your bet back on even money bets like red and black if the ball lands in the zero pocket. Hurrah!
Game Play
This bit of info is for the roulette novices amongst you, so if you’re a master then skip to the end! Although on first glance the roulette table looks a bit scary (particularly if you’re more used to the slots like this wombat), but the basic idea behind this awesome game isn’t that complicated.
All you have to do is wager on which one of the 37 numbered chambers the cheeky plastic ball will land in, after it has been spun! You can also try to pick the general range or colour of the pot, or whether an odd or even chamber will come up.
There are two main types of bets when playing European Roulette:
Inside bets
These bets are on single numbers, two numbers together, or small groups of three, four, or six numbers. The inside bets are high odd bets and we recommend you try at least one inside bet (together with an outside bet) if you’re after scooping up some big payouts.
Outside bets
These are bets are lower odds and are made on larger groups of numbers which include groups of 12, the red or black numbers, and the even or odd numbers
Oh, and one more piece of info: This version of roulette is the same as French Roulette which basically means it has 37 numbers instead of the 38 that are found in the American game – simply having only the single zero on the wheel is enough to make this the superior version! Although this may seem like a small difference, it is rather significant as it nearly halves the house edge…
European Roulette on your mobile
Fancy having a flutter on the hop? Well you’re in luck! As European Roulette is optimised for all devices, which means you don’t have to wait around like a galah while a space comes up at the roulette table.
Conclusion
Fast spins and quick wins, that’s the name of the game here in 1×2 Gaming’s European Roulette. And best of all, it comes packed with “La Partage!
Take a pew at the roulette table and see if you can’t pick up some chunky payouts…
