Graphics

The layout is unmistakenly a fishing slot- we’re in the Great Blue alright! It’s a good job that wombats can swim.  The reels are submerged underwater with a small horizon above, with plenty of boats bobbing about.

In the distance, is a Ferris wheel and a few high-rise buildings. I guess this is what things look like through a fish-eyed lens.

The layout is a standard five reels and three rows with twelve pay-lines. The graphics aren’t what I’d call high end – I’d put this game in the same design bracket as Chilli Inferno from Oros.

Above the reels are boats that play an essential part in the base game and the feature. The only symbol noticeably missing is a Wild symbol. However, the catch symbols are where all the fun happens and can award some decent payouts.

Gameplay

Boat Bonanza can be spun from 0.20 to 50.00. The RTP comes in at an industry standard for Play’n GO at 96%. The volatility in this game is high, and there is a maximum win of 5000 times your stake on any spin, just like Amazing Link Poseidon which is another ocean-themed game.

The symbols are many salty types with the higher-paying symbols paying between 50x and 200x for five of a kind. Lower paying symbols include the usual playing card suspects such as A, K, J, and Q.

The key symbols to look out for are the fish and sea creatures that have payouts up to 1000x.

For five-catch symbols on a payline, will net you 40x your wager.

Bonus Features

Although Boat Bonanza only has two features, you can win up to 5000 times your bet, which is an amount not to be sneezed at.

Catch Symbols

Catch symbols can appear across all the reels, depicted by various creatures lurking in the depths. To collect the cash symbols, you will need to focus on the boats above the reels. While the boats appear greyed out, they are inactive, and no catch symbols can be caught.

However, when the boats get a bot of colour, they are active, and any cash symbols that land on the reel beneath an active boat will be collected and
added to your balance.

If two active boats occur above a reel, it will trigger the Mega Catch, and this feature collects all the cash symbols on the reels. A nice catch!

Free Spins

When three to five net scatter symbols land, you will receive 10 to 20 free
spins. During the free spins, there are always two active boats. They can catch multipliers, symbols, more free spins, or catch symbols.

If two boats are together on a reel, the multipliers combine for the mega catch. When you collect the cash symbols, respins are awarded during the free spins. This is different from the base game (respins are not available).

The respin feature deactivates all regular symbols, and only cash symbols will appear. Plus, the respins will continue as long as the boats are collecting these symbols. When no catches are left, you will go back to regular play.

Summary

Although the Boat Bonanza slot looks like a simple game, the excitement builds on the reels when the catch symbols or the scatters land. This is when this game comes into its own, and you can make some decent wins here.
