The wombat says: No, wombat fans, the 7Up Slot has absolutely nothing to do with a highly refreshing lemon and lime flavoured drink. It is in fact a brand new and rather exciting scratchcard-inspired release from small developers Endorphina that is themed around the lucky 7 number. Let’s call it one of those “Casual Games” like the Six Shooter Game which is a catch all category that includes all of those games that don’t look like a slot or a standard casino table game.
It’s a good example of a game that’s involves reel play and scratch antics all rolled into one money-making ball. So enough with the preamble, lets get stuck in!
Look and Feel
Well for starters, it’s bright neon and there’s loads of 7s! But then so is the Cash Splash 3 Reel slot and that’s been around for donkey’s years. But that’s where the similarities end. The style of this new scratch game is an interesting combination of modern and retro. The retro electro game itself is set on a background of black and purple and the lines and panels are painted are also in purple. At the end of each line, you will see a ‘PRIZE’ tab which will let you know how much your win amount total is. Sleek and stylish, the graphics are top notch and we especially like the way the symbols come alive during play, there are even droplets of water falling off the seriously fruity icons! Last but not least, the Miami Vice-style 80s soundtrack adds a bit of atmosphere to your gaming, too…
We love a slot that is not a slot every now and then (Mega Money Rush is another favourite of ours). And this definitely fits the bill.
There are 7 lines in this game (of course), and you can select how many of these you’d like to play with by clicking on the Lines Tab. Next, select your stake (which ranges from £0.20 to £70.00), by adjusting the ‘per line Field’. Now you’re good to go.
The aim of this game is to reveal 3x matching symbols on each active payline to win – so far so straightforward. Your symbols are all neon and are inspired by your traditional fruit machine icons. They include; the purple number 7, the Bar, the bling-bling blue diamond, the lucky green clover, the golden horseshoe, the watermelon, a bunch of grapes, the juicy pineapple, the banana, the lemons and the cherries. The highest-value symbol in this game is the purple lucky 7 which will pay you out up to a whopping 10,000x your stake if you manage to land 3x of these beauties on an active payline.
Finally, if you are feeling a bit lazy Wombat Fans, then use the ‘turbo’ button to speed things up a bit. This little device will reveal all the symbols in a row at once! Perfect for the impatient player.
We’re big fans of the number 7 here at Wombat Towers. ‘But why?’ You might ask. Well, the magnificent 7 is prime number for starters which means it’s a bit unique. Plus, over the decades many tribes and civilisations have this number in everything from farming to architecture as it holds great meaning (and some might say even ‘magic’). With that in mind, 7 Up from Gamevy floats out boat, and we did rather well out of it. It also makes a nice change from the rolling reels and free spins that make up our standard play. So if you need some variety in your game play, give this a go.
