Rugby Star
Unfortunately, we no long offer Rugby Star as a real play game. Why not try Games Global’s Football Star Slot instead?
Did I mention that I used to play a bit of rugby when I was a strapping young wombat? I wasn’t really a rugby star though. More like a rugby legend!
Forget the Wallabies, Wombats are what you want on the team if you’re chasing an egg-shaped ball around the field. Mrs Wombat was forever telling me: “that’s fine looking tackle” when I was on the pitch.
Which brings me on to the Rugby Star slot, a nice little 243 Ways to Win game (like the Octopays slot) that came out for the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
If you’re anything like me, and you like your sports, you’ll be attracted to this game and it’s got some pretty neat features. All the beefy lads on it look like they should be on the Gladiator of Rome slot. You could say it packs a punch.
The Wild Symbols stack up so much on this game I’m going to have to start calling them Pringles.
There are more than 40 Wilds, which are represented by the Rugby Star logo symbol, which means more chances for you to make up wins.
And there’s a Wild Pass feature too. When I was playing loose-head prop for the Wongawilli Wanderers, we used to call a wild pass a Hospital Pass because it generally had a big fat bloke steaming in towards you on the other side of it.
But in this Rugby slot a Wild Pass is a good thing as it can turn up to two of the centre three reels wild which guarantees you a win, and sometimes gifts you a big ‘un. All these bells and whistles were developed by Microgaming- the people behind the Big Kahuna slot and Cricket Star- the other game in this series.
The scatter symbol is the rugby ball that says “Scatter” (clever, eh!) And 3 or more of these anywhere on the reels will mean it’s time for your half time oranges, as you’ll be trotting down the tunnel and into the free spins round.
If you’re a rucking flanker, you’ll know that you need to roll away when you are on the floor. And talking of rolling, the Rugby Star slot has another great feature up its sleeve- and that’s Rolling Reels. If you don’t know what these are, you’re missing out. You might have seen them in the Thunderstruck 2 slot bonus round or in Gonzo’s Quest.
Anyway, Rolling Reels means a chance of multiple wins, because in the Rugby Star slot all of the winning symbols disappear into thin air after a win (puff!), and new symbols drop into the space they have left behind. If a new winning combination lines up, hey ho, you win again without having to spin the reels.
And if you happen to be in the free spins round, Rolling Reels can award up to a 10x multiplier during the bonus
Like all of the best games, you can play this slot at half-time when you’re in the stands in Cardiff, Twickenham, Murrayfield, Dublin, Paris, Sydney or Auckland. It’s fully optimised for mobiles and tablets and looks great on laptops and desktops too.
This Rugby Slot is a great little game. It’s not overly packed with features, but the ones that it has got are the business and the game is easy to pick up and good fun to play. We especially love the Rolling Reels feature.
It’s a Try!
It was the Rolling Reels that did it for us- love ’em.
