Now, I know as well as the next wombat that Rio’s carnival is something of a spectacular occasion. Isn’t this the time when the streets are full of pneumatic dancing and the intoxicating rhythms of samba music?

So I have to admit that I was pretty disappointed by the slightly flat graphics that Eyecon have created for this celebration of all things Brazilian.  And the sound effects that provide the background to your game play are also very basic. They could have really gone to town on this one!

To make up for this shortcoming, there is a quick piece of samba style drumming which you hear when you land the Scatter, but there could surely be a bit more of the fun stuff! The game play makes up for it though…..

Cup Carnaval Slot Game Play

Cup Carnaval slot is a 3 row, 5 reels and 25 payline game for fans of samba and football. That’s a full 15 lines more than Play’n GO’s Ghost of Dead slot! Just saying.

So while this game is a bit of a let down on looks and feel it does come up far better on game-play.

To make a line win you will want to land the high scoring symbols into place. The most valuable icons are party rocket (land five on an active payline and win 3,000 coins.)

Next up there are a pair of party horns, a football foot in motion and a pair of hands catching a football. The lower value icons are the Ace through 9 of the card deck in coloured letters.

The game’s Wild is a football in the national team’s yellow and green strip colours but this icon only crops up on reels 1, 3 and 5. The Wild substitutes for all icons except the Scatter but it also reward you with a triple multiplier if the Wild is part of a winning combination.

The Scatter is one of the more notable icons as it can be animated and is a sultry samba dancer done up in a traditional feather costume.

Conclusion

The Cup Carnaval slot is a let-down for me in the looks department but this one slight failing is more than made up for in its gameplay.

Eyecon’s Brazilian escapade looks a lot better when you add  the potential 400 Free Spins in the mix as well as expanding Wilds and that triple Multiplier. This slot is a higher variance game for those of you who like a stat or two.
