Classic Blackjack Gold Series
Classic Blackjack Gold Series
The wombat says: Classic Blackjack Gold series is one of the many (maaaannnnny) variations of this classic table game from those slot wizards at Microgaming. It’s basically a more elegant version of their original Classic Blackjack but with a few minor upgrades. And here’s an FYI for you Wombat fans: the aim of the Gold Series games is to you transport you to the real-life casino, so you feel like you are sitting at an actual blackjack table while you peruse your winning hand. But does it do the job? Let’s take a look…
Look and Feel
Microgaming have delivered with the development of these Gold series games. The overall experience is amazing and replicates quite nicely the atmosphere you’ll find in a plush and fancy casino. Sharp crisp graphics, realistic sound effects, plus super-fast game play and other enhanced features make this game a visual delight.
Game Play
This version of Blackjack is played like a standard game and shares the same rules; it’s played with a full deck of 52 cards that are randomly shuffled before each deal, while the goal of the game is to create a hand that comes as close to or even with 21, without going bust. Beating the dealer’s hand or being dealt a blackjack yourself will result in a nice cash for you. Hurrah!
Players will have various options available as they play the game, including the ability to split pairs and double down on certain hands. There is also an insurance option available that pays out at 2:1. (if you get an inkling that the sneaky dealer might have got Blackjack).
Thankfully Wombat fans, Blackjack is probably one of the easiest online table games to play, once you get the hang of it. Players are dealt 2 cards while the Dealer only gets 1. The aim of the game is to get as close to 21 as possible, but be warned, the Dealer might get closer, or Bust. So while you’re playing for 21, keep in mind that the Dealer will have the same goal in mind. Once the 2 cards have been dealt, and you’ve seen what the Dealer has, you can decide to Stand or Hit, the latter meaning that you’re asking for another card to try and better your hand.
Bets start from $1 and go up to $200 on a single hand which means the game is a great option for both newbies and Blackjack aficionados.
Basic Rules
The dealer hits 16 and stands on ALL 17’s, including soft 17.
Blackjack pays 3:2
Only pairs can be split and there is no re-splitting allowed.
Doubling down is allowed only on two-card total of 9, 10 or 11 and doubling-down after split is not allowed.
Conclusion
If you enjoyed playing Classic Blackjack, then you’ll love playing Classic Blackjack Gold. It’s the same game just with smoother gameplay, better graphics and nice sound effects. OK, it’s a bit on the basic side as far as variants go, and those you of who want to bet on more than one hand at a time may find it a bit frustrating. However this Wombat thinks that when it comes to table games, simple is often the best. So it’s a thumbs up from us!
