Blackjack Professional Series Standard
This game is no longer available at Wombat Casino. Why not try Blackjack Platinum VIP from Evolution instead?
The wombat says: “You’ve got to know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em …” or so says Kenny Rogers. And those word wise words are never far from this wombat’s my ears when I have a flutter on Blackjack Professional Series Standard game.
This game is played with 4 decks of standard playing cards (compared to, say, Blackjack Pro Monte Carlo SingleHand which is powered with six decks.
Next to Roulette, Blackjack is the most famous gambler’s game and part and parcel of any brick and mortar online casino. Well, there are games like Jacks or Better video poker as well, I guess, but you get my drift. Reason being Wombat Fans is that each round is quite short, the rules itself are simply enough to understand, and most importantly, players have a good chance of scooping some coinage!
Plus, with a house edge of just 1 %, Blackjack can be a lucrative little game, and overall offers even slightly better chances than its more popular bigger brother, Roulette.
The feel of the game is premium club- imagine the girls off the Lady in Red slot machine singing away in the corner and you’ll get the picture.
The beauty of Blackjack lies in its simplicity: The goal is to get a higher score than the dealer, based on the values of the cards, without going over 21 or going “bust”, as us gambling pros would call it. Every player receives 2 cards and then decides whether they want to “hit” and get more cards, or “stand” and make combos from use the cards he already has. If you manage to beat the dealer, you get a pay out of 1 for 1, meaning you’ll win as much money as you wagered in the first place on the table.
Another option in this game is doubling down. If you chose this game play, you’ll take only the one card while at the same time doubling the bet. If you’ve got a 9 and a 2, with a double bet you’ll only get to draw one card, and if that card is high e.g an A or a 10 then you’re laughing! However, if it’s just a lowly 3, then there’s a good chance you’ll be kissing your money goodbye, so exercise some caution …
Blackjack Professional Series Standard includes 2 rules that play into the hand of the punter – which we like a lot. Firstly, the dealer has to stand on 17, but more importantly, he also has to draw to at least 16 regardless of the hand of the player! So even if your hand seems is as rubbish as a Chinese Landfill, and all you have is a meagre 15, don’t give up all hope just yet! If the dealer starts out with a hand of 14, he’ll still need to draw another card, and then there is a fair chance that he will go bust… Excellent news.
And talking of hands, if you consider yourself a serious player then you’ll have no problems multitasking, so try playing up to three hands simultaneously. It’s a mind blower!
Blackjack Professional Series Standard also offers a bit of insurance against a Blackjack from the dealer. Whenever the 1st open card of the dealer’s hand is an A, you’ll get the chance bet an additional 0.5x your initial wager.
But here’s a bit of advice from a seasoned flutterer, in most cases it’s a good idea to kindly decline the croupier’s offer because (like with almost all insurance policies) it rarely pays off. Stick with what you know, that’s our motto!
We like this game and it’s probably one of the best versions out there. Blackjack is always good for a quick win and if you play it right (don’t forget what Kenny Rogers’ said) you can turn this game into a proper moneymaker!
